With no Locations of Interest listed since Christmas Day, Northlanders were briefly brought out of holiday-mode when Otehei Bay Cafe and Bar was listed as a Location of Interest on Tuesday.

Those who visited between 3:30pm and 4:30pm on January 5 were told to self-monitor for COVID-19 symptoms for 10 days and get a test if any symptoms developed.

Two people, who later tested positive for COVID-19, travelled to Otehei Bay by private boat on January 5. Both were vaccinated–as required for entering the premises–and briefly visited the Bar and Cafe, collecting their purchase and heading outside.
